Recipe: A Cream Liqueur with Ice Cream – SomruS Ice-Cream
We realize that not everyone is going to have an ice cream maker to make this happen, but that didn’t stop us! With only 3 hours and a little bit of prep time, you too could be enjoying delicious, SomruS-infused ice cream and no one would know it.
- 6 Egg Yolks
- ¾ cup sugar
- 3 cups milk
- 10 dashes rose water
- 6 cardamom seeds
- ½ vanilla bean
- 2½oz SomruS
- 2oz heavy cream
In a bowl mix whisk egg yolks & half of the sugar. Add milk, rose water, cardamom, remaining sugar & vanilla bean to saucepan and bring to boil. Cool to room temperature and then slowly mix into egg mixture. Return combined mixture to stove and keep stirring over medium heat for 7 mins until custard base forms (mix is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon). Remove from heat and refrigerate for 3 hours. When cool, run through sieve and mix in SomruS & heavy cream. Transfer to an ice cream maker and follow manufacturer’s instructions.
No ice cream maker? Place the mixture in a freezer container and when edges start to crystalize, after 25 mins or so, stir frozen section back into the mixture. Repeat until you have a silky, smooth frozen treat!
