Recipe: SomruS Thandai Cocktail Recipe, inspired by the Holi Festival
Thandai is a popular drink throughout much of India, and particularly during Holi. One popular recipe includes bhang, which is actually a blend of cannabis leaves and buds. Needless to say, it’s an intoxicating mix. In spite of the mild psychotropic effects, thandai is considered to be an energy drink. Naturally, we’d never recommend anything illegal, but what we do have is a pretty sweet alternative.
By substituting in SomruS, you can still enjoy a pleasant time with the added benefits of our exotically delicious flavors. We recommend mixing a large batch to share, and luckily for you, we have an updated recipe featuring SomruS.
For 1 jug of SomruS Thandai (serves 3-4):
- 20 ounces SomruS Indian Liqueur
- 15 Whole Almonds
- 15 Whole Black Peppercorns
- 1½ Tbsp Fennel Seeds
- 1½ Tbsp Khus Khus
Soak almonds, black peppercorn, fennel and khus khus in milk for a few hours. Peel the almonds and grind into a paste. Soak a big pinch of saffron strands in warm milk. Mix the paste, soaked saffron in about 20 oz. of SomruS. Let stand for about half an hour with occasional stirring. Your SomruS Thandai is ready to sip! Pour in individual tumblers, garnish with slivers of pistachio, almonds and a few stands of saffron.
