Diwali (or commonly known as “The Festival of Lights”) is an annual holiday celebrated primarily in India, among other Southeast Asian countries and Indian diaspora in the US and around the world.  And for some, it is one of the most important celebrations of the year!

This year, The Festival of Lights falls on October 27th. Diwali is a celebration of light over darkness. It roughly follows the end of the fall harvest. While the holiday means a lot of different things to many different groups, the celebration always includes a time when family and friends come together over food & drink.

This year, when celebrating, we suggest an easy dessert – Somrus Chai or Mango Cream Liqueur poured over your favorite ice cream:

Another crowd-pleaser is our Black Chai Martini

3 oz. Somrus Chai Cream Liqueur
1 oz. Johnnie Walker Black Label

Add Somrus Chai and scotch to an ice-filled shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a martini glass. Enjoy!

In honor of Diwali, light some candles, pour a little Somrus for yourself and celebrate—because while the winter months are long, light is always worth cherishing.
