PRESS: Crain’s – SomruS Booth “most visited booths in the show’s BAR exhibit “

We’re incredibly honored to have been mentioned in Crain’s Chicago Business in their wrap up of the National Restaurant Association BAR Show.

From the article:

While the Irish have Irish cream, the Mexicans have Kahlua, the Germans Barenfang and the French Grand Marnier, the world’s second most populous country, India, has no official liqueur. A Burr Ridge couple set out to create one. Made with Carribbean rum, Wisconsin dairy and flavorings including cardamom, saffron, almonds, pistachios and rose extract, Somrus was among the most visited booths in the show’s BAR exhibit yesterday afternoon.

The drink itself, bottled in a gaudy golden vessel, is sweet and creamy, not unlike Baileys Irish Cream, but with more exotic flavors. It’s sold in five states, but the brand’s owners, the husband-and-wife team of Pankaj and Swati Garg, hope to take it internationally soon.

Special thanks to Peter Frost for the kind words.
